Painting under the name CiCi, Irish mixed media artist Claire O'Shea is based in Kinsale,

on the southwest coast of Ireland. Claire’s art is a dynamic blend of styles, effortlessly moving between abstract , portraits, and figurative works. Her expressive mixed-media creations are more than just art; they are heartfelt responses to both personal and global events, offering a hopeful counterpoint to the challenges we face.

Although a passionate hobby artist all her life, it was in 2018 that she made the pivotal decision to take art more seriously and to start winding up her successful holistic health business in order to do so. In 2019 following the death of her sister through suicide, art began to take a more healing role helping her to process her grief. ​​​

"Art, for me, is both personal and communal. It is a healing practice that has significantly impacted my own quality of life. At its core, my work reflects a belief in persistence: that we can overcome adversity through determination and creativity. Life’s challenges may knock us down repeatedly, but there is always strength in rising.

My goal is for this energy; of colour, motion, and intention, to empower those who engage with my art.
