Flawed and Fabulous

'I think that I am a walking testimony to you can have scars. You can go through turbulent times and still have victory in your life'. This quote from legendary singer Natalie Cole encapsulates a lot of the sentiment behind this artwork. I would go even further to say that our scars, while they may change us down to our core, they do not define every moment of our lives and you will find yourself enjoying life again without a thought in that moment to those scars. For this painting the collage elements were deliberately allowed to add ridges and texture to create the illusion of scars and as a reminder that our scars are not imperfections.
