Sink or Swim

In life, we often face situations that test our limits and push us to our breaking point. These are the moments when we must choose whether to sink or swim.
This artwork began life as an abstract acrylic pour painting, but the more the artist looked at it the more she saw a figure coming out from the watery scene. So a few years after it was first created she began to work again in the piece this time with oil paints and pastels. Finally the addition of hand dyed wispy ribbons of material were added to the bottom edge. When caught by a breeze these ribbons move as if in the water and moving with the tide, echoing the theme of the piece 'Sink or Swim'
